Computers are an integral part of life and education in the 21st century. The use of electronic devices like computers have enhanced education dramatically – the new word ‘edutainment’ and ‘computer based training’ are just indicators of this very young field of computer and educational sciences. The author will investigate how the use of electronic media, software and internet may enhance education within lifesaving and how these techniques may be introduced and combined with traditional teaching tools and possibilities. From an international perspective, examples for the implementation of electronic media into lifesaving education will be provided.
